Q&A with Atina Diffley, author of ‘Turn Here, Sweet Corn’
Atina Diffley is already a local legend for her activism on behalf of organic agriculture and stopping an oil pipeline from being built on her land. She and her husband, Martin, operated Gardens of Eagan organic vegetable farm, started in 1973 on his family’s fourth-generation land. They now offer workshops and consult with farmers and the public through their Organic Farming Works business. Atina’s memoir Turn Here, Sweet Corn was recently published by the University of Minnesota Press. Recently, she sat down with the Mix to discuss the reasons why she wanted to write a book about her experiences as a farmer.
